Building Relationships: Directly Traded Ingredients
We build and maintain relationships with people, plants, and the environment
Knowing the source of the raw herbs that comprise our formulas and maintaining relationships with the providers of our herbs is of great importance to Classical Pearls.
We champion directly traded ingredients and support farmers and herb distributors in China and Vietnam who understand our mission of providing the highest quality medicinal ingredients, while working to ensure sustainable farming and harvesting practices, thereby preserving pristine land for future seasonal farming endeavors.
Wild-crafted and organic herbs aren’t consistently available from Chinese growers, but Classical Pearls makes every effort to source them when possible. The company has set strict guidelines for its herb providers to minimize unsustainable and non-organic growing and harvesting methods.
Pesticides are not only toxic, they interfere with herb potency and quality. Quality of soil is also important, which is why great importance is placed on establishing relationships with smaller farms and growing facilities who use only sustainable growing and harvesting practices without the use of chemical growing agents or pesticides.
Underlying the endeavor by Classical Pearls to support small farms who utilize sustainable growing and harvesting practices is the notion of responsible environmental stewardship. Our herb purveyors understand the negative ecological implications of industrial farming practices. They work hard to maintain a sustainable farming model, which also gives them viability in the global marketplace where demand for pure, uncontaminated herbs has soared in recent years. Most importantly, they realize the legacy and longevity of their multi-generational family business is at stake.
